The Old Berry Brier

I guess it is all in the way something is viewed as to whether
it is a waste or not.

I decided to put out some Hummingbird feeders to see just
how many birds I could attract to our back yard and porch.
I don't know actually what kind of hummingbirds these two
are, but they are plain ole gray with one bird being larger than
the other one. They must love one another because they bicker
back and forth.

The interesting thing is that after they drink from the feeder
they go and rest on the old berry brier giving me the opportunity
to see them resting which I have never seen before. It has also
shown me that even though the old brier looks wasted and
unuseful it is a respite for these two birds.

I am thinking this is the way life is....when we think what
we have to offer is not useful anymore, there will be someone
who needs us....we just need to stop fluttering our wings....and
take the time to rest as the birds do on the old berry brier!
