The Raging River

Rain, Rain, Rain, is what we have had for the passed week it seems. Our usually tranquil and peaceful river which I can see from my window is a raging, mean, steamy, muddy river now.

A river which can be walked across in places, on sunny summer days. A river which is crystal clear, this Youghiogheny River, is wonderful. It is 137 miles of untamed, wild, river beginning high up in the mountains and running towards Pittsburgh, Penna.

The River's Raging Waters!

We have been having very much rain. Last night just trying to see the waters was difficult. Steam from the heat of the day was rising above the muddy water.

Near our home the Youghiogheny River isusually low, crystal clear and I could practically walk across the whole river if I wanted to. Now, with the steady downpour of rain we have had, it looks to be a mean, muddy, swift, raging river!

At the end of the week, the temperatures will be in the 90's again and the rain will discontinue and we will be back to normal. Our raging river will be tranquil and peaceful again!
