JEZZIE TOOK OFF AGAIN

08/08/07
Very early this morning I took Jezzie outside and how she did it, I do not know, but she slipped out of her collar and was gone like shot out of a cannon!!!This dog is totally different off her chain and out of the house. She becomes a dreadful "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" dog. She acts as though she does not know her name and will absolutely not come to us. She just wants to run and run till she drops!I feel as though I am ready to have a heat stroke! It is so hot and sunny and humid. We searched and searched up the walking trail and down the walking trail, through our small town, all over by the river. One fellow took his pickup truck and looked for her. We talked to the fellows who are getting the town ready for a homecoming on Saturday, the same day of our 45th high school reunion. We spoke to a fellow mowing his lawn, and the Verizon man in his truck and the mail man delivering mail said he saw her running on the land near our home.We hollered and said hello to my friend, Wanda, whom I am going to the reunion with on Saturday. We sat in the park in our town and talked. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves except that it took four hours again to get her to come back to us. She doesn't like a collar and chain and that is that! So, she is laying here with her head on the window seal again, totally exhausted and so are we.

I have an obsession with learning about life and then writing about the smallest of blessings which makes one happy and yet I know these blessings are many times overlooked. P.J.Simpson "Pami"
