Making Our Own Dogfood!

07/05/07

After this dog food scare and what is safe and what is not safe to feed our pets I have been reading that contrary to what is said, We can make our own dog food!!AVOID ONIONS, GARLIC, GRAPES, RAISINS, AND CHOCOLATEWe should follow a 60%, 20%, 20% rule in preparing the foods. 60% meats such as poultry, pork, beef, lamb, sometimes fish.20% vegetables, asparaghus, beets, carrots, peas, brocolli (no ONIONS) 20% grains, we can use rice, sweet potatoes, oats and buckwheatA mixture of these foods can be placed in a crock pot and cooked for 8 hours or so with a chicken broth and fed to dogs. It is my understanding that dogs need carbohydrates. These are just some suggestions that may be helpful and came from my own investigation on the internet
