Part 6 (Another way of writing it)

I was about 10 years old when Daddy decided on a new profession. He had a building sitting close to our house and figured in his mind he may as well make a use for it. He was 50 years old and I think he was becoming a little fearful and tired of going down into the mines digging for coal.SO, he decided he would open a tavern! He got all the zoning, liquor control board, restaurant, licenses, juke box, etc., and ordered his beer, whiskey, chips and snacks and OPENED for business. What excitement for the town and the many couples in the late 50's who took this opportunity to let off steam and enjoy each other and dance and they filled up the building to the point that he made an addition for a large dance floor. When I would go over to the bar to tell him a message from Mommie, everyone sitting at the bar had to give me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I loved each and everyone of these people. On New Year's Eve Mommie would make pots of kielbasi, hot dogs, saurekraut, buns, and Daddy would buy noisemakers, hats, necklaces and what a celebration we would have. From the time I was 10 to when I left home at 17, I enjoyed all the couples, my mom and dad, and the tavern and our river was a way of life for me.No wonder I never wanted to leave home! I had all the happiness any one child could ever want! Daddy never had to go down in to the mines again!!!
