WHY DO VANDALS DO WHAT THEY DO?

You know....it is really sad that townships where people live TRY to make nice playgrounds and picnic areas for their constituents and then...it is ruined by vandals!We went for a ride today to a town approximately 18 miles North of us and had a picnic in a pavilion in a beautiful meadow like area situated along the river and the walking trail.In the pavilion were heavy, heavy very attractive marble like tables and benches. Too heavy for someone to just lift up and steal, but what I do not understand is why there had to be words written on the tables and benches, on the ceilings of the pavilion, the tables had been hit in the middles so hard that the marble-like substance they were made of had cracked. Words had actually been chiseled in to the tables.Is it that while growing up the hormones are running so rampant that crashing something is what feels good to do, and what it takes to destroy what others tried to make good. Are these people who their mothers and fathers would say, "My child would NEVER do such a thing!!" Scary, isn't it? How can a parent control someone they fear to say to them, "This behavior is just NOT acceptable!"(I remember when our children were babies and an author had written a best selling book which I truly believe helped to lead to all of this disrespect.) Well, they say there is POWER in the written word.I think that the parks and playgrounds and cemeteries and goodness will suffer destruction until the basics are gotten back to. Maybe people thousands of years ago thought the same thing......
