ROSE WORLD

08/18/07

I could say WORLD OF ROSES, but that doesn't quite fit what I am thinking. To have a world of roses would, to me, be many, many roses in the world, but to live in a Rose World is something fantastic. It is difficult at times to live in a rose world because when you see the reality of what the news portrays; crimes, neglect, omissions, fears, poverty, all of these bring with them a sense of defeat. This is why the people who do their seminars teaching attitudes tell us to not watch quite as much news, for after all, isn't it mostly bad news?We have to keep up with current events, though, and not stick our heads in the sand by not listening. It is how we react to sadness, bad news, difficult people, that matters. They say you get what you expect! We have the choice of how we paint the picture we see of today's life. We are to have HOPE and Gratitude and Joy and Optimism, and LOVE and praise and all the most wonderful words all wrapped up together making them a suit of ARMOUR of protection. Each of us also has a Book which teaches us these traits. My husband says I live in a Rose World. I know that he sees a straight and narrow path and he deals in facts he can see, where I see vivid colors and both sides of issues. This is why when my brain gets cluttered I will ask him for advice because I know he sees the immediate facts. He will 'pshaw' me when I try to see the good in everything and sometimes berate me for it. But then, on days when I am down and out, that is when he will tell me the same optimistic words I may have said to him at one time long ago!So if he says I live in a Rose World, I will value that as a compliment!
